Groundwork is a Martial Arts Youth Programat Masterskya Martial Arts Academyfocused on the practice of Jiu Jitsu,Wrestling, Submission Grappling.
MISSION. We all start somewhere in our pursuit of excellence. We bring our individual strengths and weaknesses into any practice. Although our rates of achievement may all be different, the direction we will strive will be the same. Our goal will be the Art and Mastery of our craft. The intention of getting better everyday will be our way. When we take our first steps, we will learn the fundamental principles and tools of our craft. This is Groundwork.
Our goals require respect and discipline for our craft in order to achieve and improve. This requires practice and repetition, facing difficulty and adversity. Our goals require hard work. This will be the guiding principal in our process of self discovery. Art is Work.
Our mission is to provide a safe and uplifting environment for instruction, improvement, and work. The academy will be a place to master our skills.
Instructor. Evor Guevarra is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under Vitor "Shaolin" Ribeiro. His accomplishments in BJJ include placing Bronze in the IBJJF World Championships as a Purple Belt, winning Gold at the IBJJF Master World Championships in his division as a Purple Belt, winning Gold and placing Silver at the IBJJF Master World Championships in his division as a Brown Belt, and placing Silver in the IBJJF Master World Championships in his division as a Black Belt.
Evor's passion for grappling sports started as a high school wrestler where he won multiple league and regional titles. He qualified and competed as a finalist in the state of California.
Evor trains and competes under his instructor and team at Vitor Shaolin Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

We will train "No Gi". Which means, come to class in a shirt (or rash-guard) and shorts.
